Ryan R. Lloyd, DMD
Dr. Lloyd is a seasoned oral surgeon who strives for perfection, driving him to deliver every procedure with the utmost precision and care.
About Dr. Lloyd
Dr. Ryan Lloyd grew up in Seattle, WA, and was first exposed to oral surgery in the Navy while stationed in Everett, WA. During that time, he provided dental services to over 8,000 sailors and Marines and was taken under the wing of one of the oral surgeons on base. He quickly found oral surgery to be an extremely rewarding specialty and knew that he wanted to pursue a career that allowed him to make such a dramatic impact in the lives of his patients.
Dr. Lloyd joined the MOSA Oral Maxillofacial & Dental Implant Surgery team in 2009 and quickly became an integral part of our practice. He loves that oral surgery allows him to provide patients with a solution to a problem that they might have once thought wasn’t possible. Seeing his patient light up with confidence after treatment and smile with ease is one of the best parts of his job. Dr. Lloyd relentlessly pursues perfection in surgical techniques and patient care and wants every patient to know that he will give 100% every time.
Education & Residency
After completing his undergraduate studies in zoology at Brigham Young University in Provo, Dr. Lloyd accepted one of ten full scholarships sponsored by the U.S. Navy to attend dental school. He completed his dental degree at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and then entered the U.S. Navy as a general dentist in 2002. While stationed in San Diego, he completed advanced education in general dentistry and gained hands-on experience with impacted third molar extractions and soft tissue grafting procedures.
Dr. Lloyd was accepted to a four-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, where he gained additional training and experience in the full scope of oral and facial care and the administration of intravenous sedation.
Memberships & Certifications
Dr. Lloyd is an active member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the California Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the California Dental Society, the American Dental Association, and the Monterey Bay Dental Society. He also maintains privileges at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.
Dr. Lloyd has completed all of the requirements to be certified by Stemodontics and is excited to offer this stem cell service to his patients. Now, they can make an investment today that could save their health in the future.
Outside the Office
Outside of the office, Dr. Lloyd cherishes his time with his wife and five children and his family loves living in the Monterey Peninsula. He enjoys staying active and can often be found, swimming, biking, running, and training for triathlons and marathons. His goal is to complete a marathon in every state of the country! He has passed off his love of sports to his kids and enjoys participating in all of their activities.
