For a Complete and Healthy Smile

Having few or no healthy, functioning teeth can have a dramatic impact on a person’s quality of life. The pain associated with broken and missing teeth can be extremely uncomfortable and can make simple tasks like eating and speaking normally challenging. At MOSA Oral Maxillofacial & Dental Implant Surgery, our team understands how transformative a new smile can be, and we strive to help every patient find the right restoration solution for their oral health and smile. That’s why we offer full-arch restoration, a revolutionary procedure that allows patients to restore an entire upper and lower arch of missing or failing teeth.

Using the full-arch restoration system, Dr. Michael Lewis, Dr. Ryan Lloyd, and Dr. Andre LaMothe can provide a brand new set of beautiful teeth that look and function just like healthy natural teeth. The dental implants allow our patients to eat, speak, and smile comfortably and promote healthy jaw bone growth. Our oral surgery teams in Monterey, Salinas, and Santa Cruz love seeing the life-changing results that patients experience from full-arch restoration. If you have many missing teeth or are looking to upgrade your current denture, we encourage you to contact our office to schedule an initial consultation.

Benefits of Full-Arch Restoration

Replacing an entire arch of teeth with a secure dental implant base provides a variety of advantages over more traditional forms of tooth replacement. Our patients enjoy the below benefits below after undergoing this procedure.

  • Full-arch restoration is permanent and secure. Dental implants act as the base for the new set of teeth, permanently securing them in place. Unlike removable prostheses, such as dentures, patients don’t need to worry about their teeth falling out while they eat or speak.
  • Patients can enjoy the benefits of their new smile immediately. In many cases, we can place a set of temporary teeth for use while the implant sites heal, allowing patients to enjoy a beautiful new smile immediately after the surgical appointment.
  • The procedure is extremely efficient and minimizes healing time. Our surgeons can strategically angle the dental implants to maximize hold and security. These advances in dental implant technology eliminate the need for excessive bone grafting procedures or the need to restore each tooth with individual implants, which require additional procedures and recovery time.
  • Dental implants promote bone health. Dental implants stimulate the bone beneath the teeth, which prevents bone loss and improves overall oral health.
  • Full-arch restoration only requires routine oral health care. Once the dental implant sites heal, patients can care for their new teeth similarly to their natural, healthy teeth. They require daily oral hygiene practices such as brushing and flossing, and patients may need to visit your dentist for an occasional adjustment. There is no risk of losing teeth and no need for extra products like denture adhesives or cleaning solutions.
  • The results look amazing. Many people feel held back by their missing teeth. Full-arch restoration completely restores our patient’s smiles and facial aesthetics. Our patients feel confident with the natural-looking results they receive from treatment.

How Does Full-Arch Restoration Work?

At MOSA Oral Maxillofacial & Dental Implant Surgery, we customize each full-arch restoration plan to serve every patient’s individual needs. The exact details of the procedure will depend on the health of the jaw bone, the number of teeth left in the mouth, the patient’s overall physical health, and other factors. In most cases, one of our surgeons will first perform a thorough oral exam and consultation, taking scans as necessary to form an exact treatment plan and map out the location of the dental implants to be placed.

During the procedure, most patients will undergo IV anesthesia, which allows them to sleep comfortably throughout the implant placement.

First, the oral surgeon will place the dental implants using custom surgical guides. Next, we will place a temporary set of teeth and patients can begin enjoying the benefits of their new smile immediately. In some cases, we can complete any necessary extractions at the same time that we place the implants. Once the implant sites have healed, the restorative dentist will place the final set of custom-designed new teeth.
