Andre LaMothe, DDS
A Monterey native, Dr. LaMonthe is proud to provide life-changing procedures to the community he grew up in.
About Dr. LaMothe
Dr. LaMothe was born and raised on the Monterey Peninsula attending both All Saints Day School and Stevenson School. He discovered an appreciation for oral surgery early on after needing both dental implants and wisdom teeth removal while in high school. He was born without either of his maxillary lateral incisors and through the experience of having dental implants placed and restored he gained the motivation to become an oral surgeon.
After finishing residency, he joined Interfaith Dental Clinic in Nashville, TN providing dental care for low-income, uninsured patients in need of emergency care while also teaching dental residents. He then joined MOSA Oral Maxillofacial & Dental Implant Surgery in 2021. Dr. LaMothe empathizes with those in need of dental care because he personally experienced the positive impact of oral surgery on his own life. He aims to give patients the same sense of confidence and fulfillment that he felt following oral surgery. After training for 8 years, he is eager to return to his hometown and provide exceptional care to Monterey County.
Education & Residency
He completed his undergraduate studies at University of California at San Diego, where he received his Bachelors Degree in Human Biology. He accepted the Dean’s Scholarship to attend University of California at Los Angeles School of Dentistry for his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Following dental school, he attended a four-year oral and maxillofacial residency program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he gained experience managing a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. During his final year he served as chief resident of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department.
Memberships & Certifications
Dr. LaMothe is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is an active member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Monterey Bay Dental Society. He maintains certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Advanced Trauma Life Support.
Outside the Office
Outside of the office, Dr. LaMothe enjoys spending time outdoors whether it’s surfing, playing golf, running, biking, or snowboarding. In his free time you can find him running and hiking with his puppy, Summer, a rescue from Tennessee. He also enjoys spending time with his parents, Dr. Pierre and Eileen LaMothe who have both worked locally in healthcare for many years.
